How do the leagues work?

Welcome to the Loora weekly leagues!

Each league ends and starts on Sunday at midnight UTC. To compete in the leagues, complete your 1 lesson, and it will automatically start the league for you. The goal of the competition is to earn as many points as possible during the week.

You can earn points by:

• Taking a daily lesson
• Completing a daily lesson
• Using the daily word
• Having a ‘perfect’ word in the conversation
• Having ‘perfect grammar’ in the conversation
• Starting in the Practice zone
• Coming first in the league
• Being promoted to the next league
• Levelling up

There are 32 users competing with you in a league. Depending on where you place in the league, you can win between 7 and 20 gems. The top 10 players advance to the higher league, while the 2 lowest-placing players are demoted to the lower league.

Why do we think leagues are good for you?

That comes down to science. We know that leagues create a sense of progress, reinforced by points, leaderboards, and trophies. Earning points and moving up the leagues provides a sense of accomplishment and completion, even for small steps, creating momentum and confidence. All of this means Loora is designed to help keep you motivated and achieve your goals!
