Does Loora teach British or American English?
You can choose your preferred accent in your onboarding or change your accent preference anytime in your settings.
The Difference
Did you know a major difference is that American English is "rhotic" (pronounces the 'r' sound after vowels) while standard British English is "non-rhotic" (drops the 'r' sound in words like "car" or "park")?
Other fun facts include differing vowel sounds, as in "dance," and unique word pronunciations, such as "tomato," with British speakers saying it with a broader 'a' in the final syllable and Americans with a longer 'ay' sound!
