My microphone isn't working / Loora can't hear me
You need to HOLD the microphone button while speaking, not just tap it. Also, check that microphone permissions are on.
Most Common Problem: Tap vs Hold
You need to HOLD the microphone button while speaking.
- Press and hold the microphone button
- Speak while holding
- Release when you finish
If you tap and release quickly, Loora won't hear you!
Check Microphone Permissions
On iPhone:
- Go to Settings → Loora → Microphone
- Make sure it's on (green)
- If you don't see this, try turning it off and on again
On Android:
- Go to Settings → Apps → Loora → Permissions
- Make sure Microphone is set to "Allow"
- Restart the app after changing this
Other Solutions
Restart the App: close Loora completely and open it again.
Restart Your Phone: this refreshes all permissions.
Reinstall the App: delete Loora, download it again, and allow the microphone when asked.
Check Your Phone: make sure nothing is blocking the microphone (phone case, your finger, dirt).
Move to a Quieter Place: Loora may have trouble hearing you if there's too much background noise:
- Other people talking
- Music or TV
- Traffic or street noise
- Wind (if you're outside)
- Air conditioning or fans
Try moving to a quiet room and speak clearly into your phone.
Hands-Free Mode
If holding the button is hard for you, try hands-free mode:
- Look for the toggle button next to the microphone
- Switch from "Push-to-Talk" to "Hands-Free"
- Now: tap once to start, tap again to stop
